But are they monsters? Are they cute pixies or dangerous otherworldly beings? Are they insect-sized creatures who sleep in flowers? What do they want from us, or we from them? Just what, exactly, is a fairy? In this class, we will read works of literature about fairies from across time and across cultures, including modern versions that reimagine the fairy. In fun, experimental writing exercises, we will try our hand at writing stories of our own (this part is optional, so feel free to join in whether or not you’re interested in writing).

Details:
Fairies: An Exploration of Literature and Creative Writing
Professor Katie Winkelstein-Duveneck
4 sessions: Mondays, June 1 – June 22
1:00 – 3:00 pm
Fee: $160

https://thefrickestatelectures.org/products/559-fairies-an-exploration-of-literature-and-creative-writing
