Larry Wolff via Zoom

During this class, the lecturer will share with you a light-hearted PowerPoint presentation which he’s sure will illustrate why he thinks this is the funniest film ever made. It will provide you with a morning of hot jazz, gangland slayings, impersonations, amazingly funny dialogue, crisp black and white photography, and lots and lots of laughs. Marilyn Monroe was never more sexy or beautiful, nor were  Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis ever more fun than they were here in drag. This film helped to break the Hollywood infamous Hays code, which was concerned about decency being portrayed in Hollywood films. Learn the back story of the many difficulties that were involved in the production. For instance, does Marilyn Monroe appear in the advertising artwork? Well, yes and no. Some scenes were filmed multiple times because someone couldn’t get the lines correct. Film veterans Joe E. Brown, George Raft, and Pat O’Brien help to round out the cast and make this an unforgettable film with the most memorable closing line in celluloid history! Multiple film highlights will be included.

[A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to each session, typically on the day before your class and the morning of your class.  If you have any questions or need help getting online, feel free to call us at 516-480-5733 and we’ll get right back to you with assistance.]
