Alan Richards via Zoom
Using photos from the Office of War Information (OWI) as well as a few from the Farm Security Administration (FSA), Professor Richards has manipulated them in order to create art which tells a new story. He examines things via PowerPoint presentation from two different points of view: (1) from the historical view of the OWI/FSA and their hired photographers, and (2) from an artistic point of view with a more contemporary, but somewhat nostalgic approach. All original photographs, which he has framed for exhibition, are also presented with their respective histories and credits attributed to those talented photographers of that period in history.
Even though Professor Richard’s art has been created from photographs taken between 1938 through 1945, all existing now within the public domain, he has been able to combine facets of them in order to produce a photomontage about life on the home front during the war years as experienced by “the greatest generation.” Join us for this unusual presentation, which we are offering at NO CHARGE as a pre-summer treat for you!
