Peter Josyph

This upbeat series of 3 films, which may be registered for individually, takes a nostalgic walk down Supreme Court “Memory Lane” to a time when the concept of a republic was paramount, and ideals like unanimous opinions, ethical recusals, and avoiding the appearance of impropriety were a part of daily life for the “Supremes.”

The third film in this series features George Stevens’ Emmy winning SEPARATE BUT EQUAL, with Burt Lancaster, Richard Kiley, and Sidney Poitier starring in a two-part drama about the Supreme Court’s landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision that was the spearhead of the Civil Rights movement. Don’t miss this powerful reenactment of the dramatic events leading from a small rural classroom to the Supreme Court decision that outlawed segregation.  Because this film has a 3-hour plus running time, it will be shown in two sessions, but you only pay the price of one!
