Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed three operas to librettos by Lorenzo Da Ponte: Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Cosi fan Tutte. This course will examine each of these operas, showcasing some of the extraordinary conductors and singers noted for their artistry from the past to present. All remarkable classics, the three operas Professor Courtade will present are among those which continue to enthrall audiences and draw the world’s greatest musicians to the excellence of Mozart. Join us to be inspired by this sublime music!

About the lecturer(s)

Marc Courtade

Marc Courtade served for several years as Executive Director of the Huntington Arts Council, promoting artists and the Arts throughout Long Island. He is also a 2022 winner of the Harry and Sandy Chapin Legacy Award for his lifelong contributions to the Arts. A specialist in musical theatre and opera, as well as an avid performer who has appeared in numerous productions locally and in the Tri-State area, Professor Courtade has additionally taught Arts Management at the college level.
