604. Secrets of the Mind on Film: La Moustache

When Marc's wife, Agnès, their friends and his coworkers appear not to notice that he has impulsively shaved the mustache he has worn for most of his adult life, he wonders whether this is a joke they are all playing. Is he being cruelly gaslighted? Or has he become delusional? Written and directed by Emmanuel Carrère (who also wrote it as a novel), starring Vincent Lindon as Marc and Emmanuelle Devos as Agnès, and featuring a score by Philip Glass, this unusual psychological drama won a special award at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
